If your organization uses Perceptive Content (ImageNow) version 7.1.5 or earlier, you should start planning your next upgrade now to maintain version compliance and full supportability.
There are many reasons to stay current with your Perceptive Content (ImageNow) version updates, upgrades, and patch releases, but we also know that even the smallest upgrades can create big challenges. A good baseline for any Perceptive Content implementation is to maintain product version compliance and supportability, as defined by Hyland.
According to the latest Release Strategy & End of Support (EOS) Policy, Hyland has identified several important dates related to Perceptive Content versions 7.0.5 and 7.1.5:
Perceptive Content Version | Limited Support Date | End of Life Support Date
Perceptive Content 7.0.5 | 01/01/2018 | 01/01/2019
Perceptive Content 7.1.5 | 08/01/2019 | 08/01/2020
If you are still running Perceptive Content 7.0.5, then your implementation is already on limited support and will discontinue completely at the beginning of next year. This means that starting in 2019, any support or maintenance required from Hyland will either be unavailable or incur additional professional service costs.
If you are running Perceptive Content 7.1.5, you will continue to receive full support through summer of 2019, with limited support available through the following year. In either case, we would recommend starting to plan your next upgrade now.
If your organization has already been through an upgrade, then it will be unsurprising to learn that most upgrade projects span 3-6 months depending on the size of the implementation, complexity of integration and custom development, and document storage needs. The following timeline reflects a number of steps and processes that are included in a typical upgrade:
For 7.0.5 implementations, your system will very likely experience some amount of time without support, unless you are already in the process of upgrading or have plans to begin your upgrade immediately. For 7.1.5 implementations, you should be starting to plan for your next upgrade now to avoid limited supportability.
In addition to maintaining supportability, there are many features, enhancements, and performance improvements that were just released with Perceptive Content 7.2.3, including important updates to Application Plans (LearnMode).
